This is my first submission, but I’ve been following the blog on my business page AND before I had a Tumblr for ages :)

This was the first photo I let someone else take of me after I had my Thyroid removed. I have a gnarly scar across my neck, I really thought it would bother me but it doesn’t. I love it. It makes me….me. Plus it makes for a cool story involving knife fights, Maury, and potentially ninjas.

I didn’t hide behind leggings under my dress, I wanted this picture to show me, and I wanted to show that for once, I was actually happy. I was miserable for years with a bum thyroid and once it FINALLY came out, well, I’m kind of like a new person.

Since gaining the weight I have I’ve had so much trouble looking at photos of myself and not picking apart every single piece. This photo…I couldn’t find anything I hated…as much as I tried :)

Sure, I still struggle, just like everyone else does. But when I’m having an absolutely miserable day, I go back to this. And I smile.

So I’m relatively new to all this, just started my personal page today and the first thing I wanted to do was submit here.

Thanks so much for having such an awesome blog that has taught me so much about loving myself!

in scrolling i thought this was beth ditto but then i saw the tattoos didnt match . scars with awesome stories are great! I have people convinced I lost my finger to an alligator
